Showing the House
Getting your house ready to show can be a difficult part of the process. You will need to agree on who will do the work and where the money for the repairs will come from.
When offers come in you will need to work together to review them in a timely manner. You will have to look at the potential net proceeds and terms to see if the offer works for your situation. Communication is the key and you want to be able to respond as quickly as possible. We will help advise you, but in the end it will have to be a decision made jointly between the two of you.
Before you decide to list the house, you should have a written agreement establishing how the proceeds are to be split. At the time of closing, the escrow company will distribute the proceeds that are left over after paying off all the mortgage and tax obligations as well as any other payments you have both agreed to.
